Gakuru - Handmade Wooden Tutsi Bowl

I discovered this gorgeous bowl while searching for vintage fabrics. Once I saw this vessel, I knew I had to share! Known as a Tutsi bowl, this was carved out of a single piece of local wood. Once a utilitarian object, it's wonderful to know that this is also very much art work. 

I wouldn't recommend adding any water or liquids to this precious vessel, or any storage of food, but do add a dried flower or two, or drape some jewelry on it!
