So this music post can go on forever and ever because we really listen to a ton of music in the studio each day. I do notice that it doesn’t matter what I put in shuffle, somehow one of Donald Byrd’s albums gets thrown in the mix. It could be our “rock it out” day, with some Thin Lizzy or TV on the Radio mash up. Somehow Mr. Byrd flies right in there, with his funky mix of jazz, disco or whatever else he felt like throwing into his pot of musical goodness.
There are too many songs to choose from but please check out more about this amazing trumpeter, producer, collaborator and all around amazing human being here. Mr. Byrd left this earth earlier this year. He will be greatly missed but he has left some of the most amazing, progressive jazz music behind as a true legacy and we thank you.
